“A Corona Farewell”
“a bright hazing
in the frozen fog,
the pinwheel’s
last smoldering
til heavens break.
scatter wheel’s ashes
into the white-blue air,
hear the virus splinter
while trashing deep
in ice-cold chasm.
dark clouds atomize
sun shining our path,
trees and rivers sparkling
wakening what’s left
of a world of flames.
give birth to earth,
shatter the color
of pandemic dust,
healing white scars
on stalks of sundew.
release black smoke
into sharp-blue skies,
hark the brown leaves
and let’s again rise
like birds in fresh air…”
